Every Ping Redwood putter is the combination of the classy look of the original Ping blade, which was crafted by Karsten Solheim in Redwood City, California, and the advanced technology that provides outstanding roll performance in every putt. The milled steel face is made from 303 stainless, and delivers a remarkable feel through the shaft. With practice, you will be able to sharpen your stroke for better distance control and superior contact. The club is heel-toe weighted, which can enlarge the sweet spot. It also upholds good rhythm in your stroke for consistency.

In terms of craftsmanship, the Ping Redwood putter line is very impressive. While other milled putters seem to resemble a cheese grater, the Redwood putters are fine, yet pronounced. The milling pattern reduces friction on the face but in a subtle way. The serial number that is engraved into the face is very enticing because it really looks elegant. The grip of the line comes in gray/black and has a very unique shape. The flat face makes the alignment of your putt very easy. Some people often rely on the face, but it is helpful to have an additional reinforcement of the grip in your hands.

When you stand over a six-footer, you need to concentrate on the putt and not on the putter. Every Ping Redwood putter gets out of the way and gives you all the concentration you need. The toplines are strong enough to show that they mean business, but they are not distracting. Each of the three Redwood head styles is precisely what you’d expect from a company that leads the putter business.

Ping has been known to use a cast zinc-like material, but with the Ping Redwood putter line, it chose to go to another direction and used the 303 surgical stainless steel (SSS). It is the perfect material as it holds up to all elements and looks great when it’s milled. It’s not as soft as carbon steel but the weight of the SSS is very close. For those who use a harder ball, they are likely to choose a carbon head. The good thing about this SSS putter is that it feels solid enough and it doesn’t feel fragile.

If you are looking for a putter that costs $300, choose from the Ping Redwood putter line. You can’t go wrong with any of the three heads.
